Dear Future and Potential Clients,
Effective, January 1, 2022, Congress enacted a "No Surprises Act". The act is described as the "new federal protections against surprise medical bills that take effect in 2022. Surprise medical bills arise when insured consumers inadvertently receive care from out-of-network hospitals, doctors, or other providers they did not choose".
Currently, I am considered to be "out of network" for all insurance companies. However, it is highly unlikely that this could affect our work together as you will be able to provide consent to initiate care with Griffith Psychological Services.
Self-pay clients are entitled to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" which estimates the cost of your care.
Your Good Faith Estimate is to include the total cost of any non-emergency items or services such as assessments, and sessions.
Your Good Faith Estimate is to be provided within 3 business days upon request.
Information regarding scheduled items and services must be provided within 1 business day of scheduling an item or service to be provided in 3 business days; and within 3 business days of scheduling an item or service to be provided in at least 10 business days.
Note:
Good Faith Estimates show the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service and is based on information known at the time the estimate is created.
Good Faith Estimates do not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. As a result, you could be charged more if complication or special circumstances occur.
If you are billed for more than the Good Faith Estimate, you have a right to dispute the bill by contacting your provider using the contact information listed on this website or the Client Portal.
Be sure to keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate or take a picture of it for your records.
