What can I expect from my first session?
We understand that many people feel nervous before their first appointment. This is why our providers are committed to providing a welcoming and safe therapeutic environment for clients. During this time, they will conduct an initial assessment to understand the clients' history and treatment needs before establishing goals to guide treatment.
A positive therapeutic relationship is important, and we recommend that approximately 3 sessions occur before the clinician and client decide whether or not the relationship will move forward.
How frequently do sessions occur?
Therapy is most beneficial when it occurs with consistency. As a result, sessions are generally conducted weekly. Based upon clients' needs, when appropriate, our team may explore meeting less or more frequently.
How long is each therapy session?
Generally, appointments for individual sessions are 45-minutes and occur weekly at an identified day and time. The frequency of appointments can be modified based upon need and the outcome of the intake session.
Do you offer virtual or telehealth sessions?
Yes, in addition to in-person sessions, telehealth sessions, where therapy is conducted via phone or video sessions are available and determined on an individual basis as it may not be the best modality for all clients.
Do clinicians work with other professionals?
Yes, collaborating with other professionals is a key part of the preservation of continuity of care. Given this, with the written permission of the client or guardian, we partner with school-based psychologists and counselors, pediatricians, primary care physicians, psychiatrists and more.
What is the process for obtaining an assessment?
We accept personal and organizational referrals for assessments. During the initial consultation, additional information will be obtained by the clinician regarding the nature of the referral before dates are determined for subsequent assessment sessions. Once the assessments are completed, a report is generated and provided following an informing conference.
Note: The duration and frequency of each assessment session vary based upon the individual and type of assessment being conducted.
Do you accept insurance?
Currently, we are in-network with the following major insurance companies:
Aetna
Oscar Health
United Healthcare
Horizon BCBS
For those with behavioral health coverage not included in the previous list, we support clients in accessing their out-of-network benefits where applicable. As out-of-network providers, we do not accept payment directly from insurance companies; however, clients will receive reimbursement based upon their plan coverage.
We understand that many clients opt not to use their insurance benefits. For those seeking to take advantage of our fee-for-service model, we offer a set rate. We do believe that psychotherapy is an investment in yourself and our set rates allow for the focus to remain on treatment.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. At this time, we accept electronic forms of payment and all major credit cards (e.g., Visa, Mastercard and American Express).
Do you offer evening and weekend sessions?
Yes. To determine our current availability for consultations, please contact us. Individual sessions will be scheduled following the initial consultation if you and your therapist decide to proceed with working together.
